St. John Paul II Catholic Schools is governed through a collaborative leadership structure that ensures our schools remain faithful to their mission while providing excellent Catholic education for students and families throughout the Fargo–West Fargo area.
Through the leadership of the Board of Directors and the support of the Council, JPII Catholic Schools operates with a commitment to faith, accountability, strategic planning, and long-term success.
The Board of Directors provides overall governance for St. John Paul II Catholic Schools. Working in partnership with the Diocese of Fargo and our sponsoring parishes, the Board establishes policies, sets long-range goals, and helps ensure the school system remains aligned with its Catholic mission.
Board membership includes diocesan leadership, sponsoring parish pastors, the President of St. John Paul II Catholic Schools, and additional members appointed by the Bishop of Fargo.
As part of the Catholic educational ministry of the Diocese of Fargo, all governance activities are conducted in accordance with Catholic teaching, diocesan policies, and the organization’s governing bylaws.
The JPII Catholic Schools Council serves in an advisory capacity, supporting the President and helping strengthen the mission and vision of Catholic education throughout the school system.
The Council provides consultation and feedback on areas such as student life, co-curricular and extracurricular programs, school culture, and the spiritual life of the schools. Council members also assist in supporting operational initiatives and strategic priorities as requested by the President and Board of Directors.
While the Council plays an important advisory role, governance authority remains with the Board of Directors. The Council does not make binding decisions or establish policy independently.
