Our history, mission, and identity as a Catholic school all call us to great expectations in every aspect of our total person education and formation programs. We call these high standards “The Deacon Way.” That phrase was coined by our late Activities Director, Mr. Randy Nelson, (d. December 1, 2014) who developed a presentation for students in activities about our expectations, including “faith, leadership, character, positive role model, academics, and sportsmanship.” Those ideals have since been expanded and extended to all our students in the motto, “Deacon Way, Every Day.” The Deacon way is intended to provide a clear path to “inspire excellence by teaching the total person and fostering the following of Christ, as taught by the Catholic Church.”
The Deacon Way Experience
The 'Deacon Way' is a way of life that positively incorporates all aspects of the St. John Paul II Catholic Schools' culture. Students and staff are called to participate in a life that exemplifies respect to God, self, and others.
“In order to educate,
it is necessary to step out of ourselves and be among young people,
to accompany them in the stages of their growth
and set ourselves beside them.”
Pope Francis
