Three Shanley Deacon Seniors will be signing their National Letter of Intent on Wednesday November 10th at 4:00 PM.  The signing is open to the public/media and will be held in front of the Chapel in the Shanley High School lobby.

Emily Srejma, Minot State, Women’s Basketball

Emily scored 360 points and pulled down 156 rebounds in 2020-21.  She is a Captain for this years Deacon team.

Coach Steve Jacobson commented “Minot State is getting a great player who is ready to compete and prove herself at the next level.  Her versatility and outside shooting ability allow her to play and defend multiple positions on the floor.  We are all so happy for her and excited to see what she accomplishes down the road.”

Halle Balluff, Minnesota State, Moorhead (MSUM), Women’s Golf

Deacon Coach Shari McTaggert had this to say about Halle:

“Halle is one of our most consistent players, we always knew she was a score we could rely on for the team. Halle hits a long ball off the tee and is consistent around the green. She is very coachable and has a lot of potential for the next level of golf!”

Halle averaged an 85 for Shanley this season with a PR of 76 during the final round of the state tournament. We are very excited to see how Halle excels once joining the MSUM team!

Jacob Skarperud, North Dakota State, Men’s Golf

Jacob will be a 4-time Captain this Spring

Deacon Coach Brock Ellingson comments on Jacob:

“He was All-State as a Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior. He was in the final group all three years at State. He won the Spring ND Championships held in place of State his Sophomore season by a remarkable 7 strokes. Jacob won the North Dakota Bobcat Open (Amateur Division) in 2020 with rounds of 68-71-70 (-7 total). He has competed twice in the National High School Golf Championships both held at Pinehurst in North Carolina.””

“The Bison are getting a good one in adding Skarperud. He is hard-working, dedicated, level-headed, and will mix in well with the current Bison roster. We are all super proud of him and wish him the best at the next level!”
